Ricoh Cloud Terminal now supports SAFEQ Cloud quotas. The user's available quota (credit) is shown on the terminal, and print and copy operations performed through SAFEQ Cloud applications are checked and charged against the user's quota.

This prevents users without sufficient credit from printing or copying.

The terminal's authentication timeout (previously 20 seconds) was shorter than the SAFEQ Cloud service timeout (30 seconds).

The values have been unified to prevent premature login timeouts during authentication.

info Reliable migration from legacy ports

Devices that had ever run version 3.0.3 could remain stuck on legacy communication ports and would never migrate to the secure port (443), meaning they would stop working once the legacy ports are closed on the server.

The port transition logic has been improved so these devices correctly migrate.

warning Application crash from file descriptor leak (EMFILE / WIN DEATH)

The terminal accumulated open file descriptors during repeated login/logout cycles and when releasing large numbers of pull-print jobs, eventually reaching the operating system limit and crashing with a native SIGSEGV / WIN DEATH.

HTTP clients, response bodies and handler threads are now properly released, keeping the file descriptor count stable across sessions and preventing the crash.

warning Printer memory exhaustion for jobs without PJL headers

Jobs spooled from the mobile app or Chrome extension do not contain PJL headers, and the terminal was searching the entire file for them, causing long delays or leaving the printer out of memory and stuck.

The header search limit has been restored so only the beginning of the file is inspected before default headers are applied.

warning Rotated scans for JPG and OCR workflows

Scan jobs were rotated when the JPG file type was selected or OCR was enabled (OCR forces JPG output). The terminal now correctly honours the device's rotation flag so scans keep their intended orientation.

Multi-page TIFF scans are also handled correctly for Auto, Grayscale and Full color modes.

warning Thick paper settings ignored via Cloud terminal

When printing through the Cloud terminal, thick paper settings were ignored and jobs were processed as plain paper, resulting in lower print quality.

The media type is now included in the PJL headers sent to the device so thick paper settings are correctly applied.

warning Improved precise accounting accuracy

Several issues with precise (push-print) accounting were resolved:

  • Print jobs were reported under the default "Print Job" title instead of the actual document name. (HBT-5417)

  • Scan jobs caused an anomaly in the new reporting; scan jobs now use a correct unique identifier. (HBT-6388)

  • When several jobs were printed at once, accounting created more jobs than were actually printed and split the page counts between them. (HBT-6433)

  • Push-print jobs were sometimes accounted under the wrong filename. (HBT-6470)

Accounting now reports the correct number of jobs, page counts and document names.
